MUSC 3102 - Audio Arts Production III 3 s.h. Class instruction will be rooted in studio session work. Aspects of recording that will be covered include gain staging, tracking, editing, sound imaging, processing, mixing, and mastering. Includes recording lab. Pro Tools will serve as the main DAW. Audio Arts Production III will cover signal chains used in recording and mixing and conduct recording sessions as part of class. The course is intended to be a collaborative effort between the students and instructor, the goal being to complete the semester having made recordings that you will be able to use as an example of your work. The materials we will be focusing on include mic placement, ear training, signal processing, mixing, problem solving, advanced digital editing, and mastering. A-E Only. Offered Fall and Spring. Prerequisite(s): SoS; MUSC or MUSI major; MUSC 2100 and MUSC 3101 .
