Major Requirements: 39 s.h.

To satisfy SUNY-wide Transfer Path requirements, the major must include:

• HIST 100 - Inventing the West to 1500 3 s.h.  or HIST 101 - European History Since 1500 3 s.h.  
• HIST 144 - Early American History to 1877 3 s.h.  or HIST 145 - Modern American History from 1877 3 s.h.  
• HIST 120 - The Making of the Modern World 3 s.h.  

Students will complete six (6) s.h. each in all three areas of: United States/Canada (AHIS), Europe (EHIS), and Africa/Asia/Caribbean/Latin America (WHIS).

The major must include:

• United States/Canada (American) History upper-division courses (AHIS) 6 s.h.

• European History upper-division courses (EHIS) 6 s.h.

• Africa/Asia/Caribbean/Latin America (World) History upper-division courses (WHIS) 6 s.h.

• HIST 280 - Skills for History 3 s.h.
• HIST 290 - Historiographic Seminar 3 s.h. (HIST 280 must be completed successfully in order to enroll in HIST 290)
• HIST 300 - Research Seminar 3 s.h. (Student must receive a grade of “C” or above in HIST 290 to enroll in HIST 300)
• History Selection (200-level and above) from any AHIS, EHIS, WHIS, or HIST excluding all courses taken P/F, including HIST 395 , HIST 397 , & HIST 396  (if taken P/F) 3 s.h.
