CRJ 1020 - Careers in Criminal Justice and Criminology 1 s.h. This course will provide a broad and historical overview of crime-related careers, go over trends in employment, and discuss what it entails working in criminal justice and criminology. Students will engage in a self-assessment to determine their interests and possible directions, consider ways to get the most out of their education, prepare for employment, and consider internships as a form of socialization into employment. Discussions will also cover employment in each sector of the criminal justice system—law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Special attention will also be given to work in the juvenile justice system, private security, forensics, and related opportunities. Pass/Fail Option. Offered annually.
