WLIT 3043 - Major Author in World Literature 3 s.h. This variable-topic course will focus on one or two prominent authors in world literature, their cultural and historical context, and their place in and influence on world literature. Authors studied may include figures like Sappho, Dante, Shonagon, Basho, Goethe, Baudelaire, Dostoevsky, Ibsen, Kafka, Yeats, Joyce, Borges, Akhmaotova, Mahfouz, El Saadawi, Pamuk, Soyinka, etc. Pass/Fail Option. May be repeated for up to 6 s.h. as long as different authors are taught in each course. Offered every 2-3 years. LA Prerequisite(s): COMP 1000 .
