ALIT 3043 - Major Author in American Literature 3 s.h. This variable-topic course will focus on one or two prominent authors in American literature, their cultural and historical context, and their place in and influence on American (and other) literatures. Authors studied may include figures like Stowe, Douglas, Dickinson, Whitman, Chopin, W. C. Williams, Bishop, Ellison, T. Williams, Morrison, etc. Pass/Fail Option. May be repeated for up to 6 s.h. as long as different authors are taught in each course. Offered every 2-3 years. LA Prerequisite(s): COMP 1000 .
