GEOL 3020 - Data Analysis in Geosciences 4 s.h. An exploration of how geoscientists manipulate, interpret, and evaluate data sets with an emphasis on using the R language and environment. R is used by many government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and within the academics to examine and analyze data. The exploration will include reviewing the scientific literature to identify the variety of analytical methods in the geosciences, working with large data sets, and gaining experience on communicating scientific results in written and/or oral formats. A-E Only. Offered every other Spring. LA Prerequisite(s): 3 s.h. of 2000-level or above GEOL or METR.
