EDUC 3040 - Cross-Cultural Comparisons of Educational Systems 3 s.h.

This course is designed to address and explore the nature and structure of educational systems. Time will be allocated to the discussion and analysis of educational issues that are of contemporary importance both nationally and internationally. Issues will include organizational structures, philosophical beliefs, teacher preparation, teacher autonomy, teaching and learning, and student achievement. We will examine developmentally appropriate curricula and the role of the teacher within an autonomous educational system. This course may also include a faculty-led study abroad component. A-E Only.
