Develops a critical understanding of contemporary news media across multiple industries and platforms. Offers a framework for understanding the processes involved in the production, dissemination, and reception of mediated news content. Examines how various aspects of society shape the news, as well as the journalist’s responsibility to inform citizens and foster civic engagement. Pass/Fail Option. Offered once a year.
