MDIA 4511 - Participatory Media 3 s.h.

Adopts a critical approach to understanding new media environments and the practices of sharing and collaboration that are now widespread as a result of networked digital media like the internet and social media platforms. Focuses on community media and the interactivity and civic engagement that occur when private individuals become media contributors or producers. Students create and implement a participatory media project as a primary component of the course. Pass/Fail Option. Offered once a year.
