A close study of selected plays by Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, and Aristophanes. There will be some examination of the background of the plays and of problems in translation. Primary emphasis will be on critical discussion of the works. Pass/Fail Option. Offered every 2-3 years. LA Prerequisite(s):COMP 1000, and LITR 1000 or LITR 1050.
