THTR 2326 - The American Musical Theatre 3 s.h.

A study of the origins, development and current practices of the American musical theater with emphasis on structure, staging, and performance style. Students will become familiar with the works of a variety of international artists from the 19th century to the present, including operettas, minstrel shows, vaudeville, burlesque, and music hall, and shows both on and off Broadway. Pass/Fail Option.
