MDIA 3005 - Law and Policy for Media Creators 3 s.h.

Legal issues and ethical problems confronting journalists, filmmakers, and other media-makers. Introduces the philosophical foundations of free expression and how governmental, legal, and institutional forces impact the U.S. media industries. Students develop critical thinking skills while confronting key issues facing media professionals today such as incitement, hate speech, defamation, obscenity, invasion of privacy, and intellectual property and copyright policy. Pass/Fail Option. Offered Fall and Spring.
