This course examines the poetry of the modern period (ca. 1890-1945) in Britain, situating it in relation to social, historical and literary contexts, such as the two world wars and the tension between modernity and tradition. Later poets may also be included. A-E Only. Offered every 2-3 years. Prerequisite(s):COMP 1000, and LITR 1000 or LITR 1050.
