CRJ 3807 - Forensic Mental Health 3 s.h. Forensic mental health is a sub-specialty in the fields of psychiatry, psychology, and social work and is concerned with the provision of mental health services to individuals involved in legal situations. Its scope of practice goes beyond the delivery of traditional mental health services and involves such issues as fitness to proceed in criminal trials, child abuse, custody, battering, and violent/sexual offenses. It involves the provision of services to both agencies and individuals, as well as victims and perpetrators. A-E Only. Offered annually. Prerequisite(s): 6 s.h. SOC or CRJ.
