BIOL 2004 - Evolution 4 s.h. This course covers evolutionary biology, including the development of the theory of evolution by natural selection, mechanisms of evolution from the molecular to the macroevolutionary scales, and the construction and interpretation of phylogenetic trees. The two-hour laboratory includes computer simulations, the collection of data from museum specimens, and a multi-week group research project in which students propose a novel hypothesis, collect data, and summarize and present their results. A-E Only. Offered every semester. LA Prerequisite(s): 7 s.h. BIOL, ENSS, ESCI, GEOL, PSYC, or ANTH.
