ANTH 4100 - Applying Cultural Research Methods 3 s.h.


In this course, students will gain hands-on experience with research design and methods in cultural anthropology. The aim is to understand the relevance and application of anthropological research to address real-world issues, which may include economic development, market research, health and medicine. Students will learn ethnographic, archival, and other qualitative and quantitative methods as well as techniques of data analysis. Attention will be given to proposal and report writing. Readings, class discussions and presentations, written assignments, fieldwork exercises, and final project. A-E Only. Offered Fall only.
