ANTH 4610 - Animal Bone Analysis 3 s.h.

This course provides students with a background in the methods of zooarchaeology, the analysis of animal remains from archaeological sites used to reconstruct the interrelationships between people, animals, and the environment. Both theoretical and methodological issues are explored, with emphasis on the use of comparative vertebrate skeletal collections in zooarchaeological research, specifically those animal species commonly found in eastern North American prehistoric and historic archaeological sites. Laboratory experience is a central focus of the course. A-E Only. Offered irregularly.
