HISA 3449 - History of the U.S. in the Sixties 3 s.h. This course examines the political, cultural, and social changes in the United States during the turbulent decade of the 1960s. Topics include civil rights, the women’s movement, expansion of the welfare state, the war in Vietnam, the formation and demise of the liberal consensus, the emergence of the counter-culture, and the conservative backlash. A-E Only. Offered irregularly. LA Cross-listed with ALS 3449 . Prerequisite(s): SoS or 3 s.h. lower division HIST course.
