ANTH 338 - Bioarchaeology 3 s.h.


This course will provide students the opportunity to learn about the multidisciplinary field of bioarchaeology. Students will be exposed to the various areas of inquiry within bioarchaeology, such as infectious disease, activity patterns, dietary reconstruction, and stress and deprivation. Students will examine photographs and casts of various pathological conditions in order for them to learn how to differentiate between the different conditions. Students will also learn the entire scientific procedure followed in bioarchaeology, from the development of hypotheses and collection of data through data analysis and interpretation.  A-E Only. Offered every other year.
