PHED 355 - Exercise Prescription for Special Populations 3 s.h.


The focus of this course is on exercise programming guidelines and recommendations for a variety of special populations that includes but is not limited to heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, the elderly and pediatric conditions. Students will study exercise as a therapeutic regimen for the most prevalent chronic diseases and disorders. Guidelines and recommendations will be investigated through the exploration of current medical research and evidence-based practices. A-E Only. Offered Fall semesters.
Prerequisite(s): JrS; BIOL 205  and BIOL 206  or PHED 290 /NUTR 290  and PHED 291 /NUTR 291 .
