EDBL 614 - Leaders in Learning 3 s.h.

As we journey further into the 21st century the demands on public education, the pace of reform movements, and depth of the research available to help ensure student learning have converged in a call for a new generation of instructional leaders. This course is designed to challenge candidates to lead schools beyond a culture of compliance to a culture of commitment to learning. Students will identify contemporary issues/mandates facing schools and navigate their solution/implementation as leaders of learning. Skills developed, practiced, and evaluated in this course include visioning, analysis, interpretation, brainstorming, collaboration, and developing a comprehensive communication strategy. A-E Only. Offered summer semester.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate degree in Educational Field, NYS teaching or business certification, and a minimum of three years of teaching or school business experience.
