 ObjectivesThe objectives of the Biology Department include providing an undergraduate program of such caliber as to draw recognition and success to our students. Our program exposes students to the major concepts and rationale of biology, the scientific method, the role of biology in our society, and the importance of biology to the individual. It is a program designed to assure student acceptance in chosen careers and graduate studies. Students transferring to this program following a 2-year program at another institution are expected to have completed introductory courses in Biology (i.e. Biology I and II) and Chemistry (i.e. Chemistry I and II), plus an additional course in Biology, Physics or Math in order to complete the degree at Oneonta in four additional semesters.
