COMM 397 - Communication Studies Internship 1 s.h. - 15 s.h. This course is designed to provide the student with an internship experience related to his/her academic and career interests: Communication. This experience allows the students to apply, in the professional setting, the theory, principles and practice learned in the classroom and to extend and develop this learning by performing or closely observing performances of roles to which they have tentative or definite career commitments. Prior to enrollment in the course, the student must meet the selection criteria which have been established by the College, the Department and the participating agencies. Each internship will be designed to provide the student with maximum exposure to a specific area of study in Communication under the guidance of a supervisor particularly qualified in the area of the internship. Internships must involve actual work with a bona fide professonal organization strongly involved with Communication as approved by the Department. Prerequisite(s): See College Minimum Internship Requirements and 2.5 GPA in the major, JrS.
