EDUC 2001 - Equitable Teaching and Learning 3 s.h. This course prepares future teachers (N-12) to effectively work with diverse student populations in today’s schools. Students will gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to understand the impact of diversity on education, work effectively with diverse populations using equitable and inclusive practices, integrate cultural diversity into the curriculum, and use their understanding of diverse students to enhance learning. The course includes a sustainability-related component. A field experience component is also part of the curriculum. Before enrolling in this class, students must complete and pass the New York State Education Department fingerprinting process, which is a required component of the course. A-E Only. Offered Fall and Spring. LA DESJ SUSF Prerequisite(s): Open to Education majors only, SoS, EDUC 1060 with a grade of “C” or better.
