EDUC 5036 - Reading and Writing in the Age of New Media and A.I. 3 s.h.

This course focuses on the ways new media and emerging technologies like AI have shifted how we read, write, and compose information inside and outside of schools. These emerging technologies have moved the ways we read and write (literacies), consume, remix, and produce meanings that are increasingly hypermediated, multimodal, visual, aural, and haptic. Through critical analysis of seminal and contemporary research literature and application projects, this course will explore how educators may leverage the connection of theory and practice (praxis) into integrating their classroom instruction and coaching with the ways in which we read and write in digitally mediated spaces in meaningful, ethical, purposeful, and engaging curriculum. A-E Only. Offered Spring and Summer.
