HISA 3701 - Lincoln to MLK: The Age of Liberation (1865-1965) 3 s.h.


This history course explores African American history from emancipation to the culmination of the Modern Civil Rights Movement. Students examine the role that African American advancement in education, politics, business, and other key areas played in shaping the laws that curtailed their involvement in U.S. society at the beginning of the 20th century and the necessity for the Modern Civil Rights Movement that dominated the mid-20th century. A-E only. Offered once a year.
