ARTS 4800 - Studio Capstone 3 s.h. This is a 4000-level capstone course for studio art majors of various studio disciplines. This course helps to prepare the student in making the transition from being an art student, within a defined academic structure, to being an independent working artist with an ongoing studio practice. There will be an emphasis on the process of conceiving, planning and producing a coherent body of work which is then promoted for exhibition. Students will assess the work they have done as art majors so far and create a new body of work that is uniquely their own using the skills they have developed so far in their studies. Students will work in the medium of their choice, emphasizing areas of strength and interest that they identify from their experiences in previous courses. Each student will create an artist’s statement and bio. Projects will be included in an end of semester Capstone Exhibition. A-E only. Offered every spring. LA Prerequisite(s): SrS, 3000-level studio class.
