ARTS 4407 - Portrait Drawing 3 s.h.

Throughout the history of western art, portrait drawing has remained a vital artistic practice. The drawings of “old masters” and contemporary artists alike speak to us because they are immediate, direct, and honest. This course focuses on the methods and tools needed to draw a portrait with accuracy, expressiveness, and sensitivity. Poses are one to three weeks in duration with a live, clothed portrait model and will be augmented by lectures, individual and group critiques, and demonstrations by the instructor. A-E only. Offered Spring only.
