SPAN 2015 - Spanish as Heritage Language I 3 s.h.

Emphasizes improvement of skills in writing, reading and oral communication in Spanish, including vocabulary-building and stylistics. Addresses code switching, use of anglicisms and interference with English. Students make oral presentations, write compositions and discuss readings about self-identity and growing up bilingual in the U.S. at novice-high and intermediate-low proficiency levels. May be taken at the same time as SPAN 2001 or SPAN 2002. Recommended to consult with instructor before registering. Pass/Fail Option. Offered Fall only.
