MUSC 3142 - Interactive Software Design 3 s.h. Interactive Software Design examines and explores the concepts of interactive performance, software design, and data-mapping through the use of the programming environment known as Max (formerly known as Max/MSP). This programming environment facilitates the design and implementation of custom-made software performance, instrument, effects, and data-processing algorithms utilizing MIDI, OSC, digital audio, video processing, and more. This power has led to Max becoming one of the most widely used programming and software-creation environments in all of music technology and digital arts. Note: Max for Live pertains specifically to Max as it operates within Ableton Live, which will also be explored and utilized throughout the class. A-E Only. Offered every other semester. Prerequisite(s): MUSC 3101 .
