SPMT 3100 - Sport and American Society 3 s.h.

This course is designed to examine sport and its position in American society, as well as to provide an investigation of various social issues related to and, occasionally, perpetuated by sport. Topics will include race, ethnicity, gender, social class, special populations, religion, and politics. These areas will be investigated through their manifestations and relationships within American sporting culture. Pass/Fail Option.
