MUSE 5425 - Echoes From Earth’s History 1 s.h. or 3 s.h.

This course will explore what we know of Earth’s history and how these ancient events continue to have an influence today in arenas as diverse as patterns of human settlement, distribution of natural resources, agriculture, industrialization, climate change, and global politics. Earth’s history spans 4.6 billion years. During this history continents have moved; oceans have been destroyed; mountains have been built and have disappeared; and organisms, now preserved as fossils, witnessed these events. Earth’s history is vast and complex, but it is understandable. A-E Only. Offered annually.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of the instructor and the director is required for students not enrolled in CGP.
