CHEM 4350 - Molecular Virology 3 s.h.


This course introduces modern virology with a focus on the molecular interactions between viruses and their hosts, as well as the reactions necessary for successful reproduction within a host cell and viral spread throughout a population. Topics covered include experimental procedures used to study viruses, virus structure, molecular mechanisms of viral entry, replication, gene expression, infection, and pathogenesis, vaccine development, and related bioethical issues. A-E Only. Offered spring semester in odd years.
