SPMT 3080 - Women in Sports 3 s.h.

This course will examine women’s history, role, and current status in sport and seek to understand the forces that surround access and participation. The relationship between gender and sport will be analyzed from different perspectives including economic, cultural, political, social, legal, and educational influences. Topics may include structural constraints, race and ethnicity, power, religion, sexuality, gender identity, the role of the media, and the impact of Title IX. A-E Only.
