This course provides an overview of the physical and chemical properties, origins, and geologic settings of the major categories of earth materials: minerals, rocks, and geofluids. It includes development of hands-on skills in mineral and rock identification and textural analysis at hand-specimen scale. A-E Only. Offered Spring only.
