ANTH 3450 - Race, Genetics, and Variation 3 s.h.


This course examines the ways in which genetic variation in the world today is used to explore questions of race and ancestry and the history and adaptation of human populations. Topics include: the history of race and the study of human variation; race in biocultural perspective; genetics, ancestry, and population history; and human adaptation and variation. Emphasis is on the contrast between racial and evolutionary approaches to human variation. A-E Only. Offered irregularly.
