 |  CNED 544 - Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling and Prevention  3 s.h.   This course is designed to provide students with: (a) an understanding of a developmental approach to recovery; (b) an overview of the different treatment approaches to alcoholism and substance abuse counseling such as self-help groups (AA), residential treatment programs, therapeutic communities, individual, group, and family therapy, and; (c) an exploration of various approaches to alcohol and drug abuse awareness and prevention in the schools and community. A-E Only.
