ARTS 203N - Advanced Painting Intensive 2 s.h. - 3 s.h.

An advanced creative studio involvement under the supervision of an instructor appropriate to the selected area of specialization. Students are expected to develop their own creative visions through exploration of various paint media. The course is intended to be the fourth level in Painting. Painting area majors may use more than one paint medium. This course allows for mentorship to students through individual and group critique, technical tutorials, exposure to the commercial art gallery and museum worlds, and lectures and critiques by invited visiting artists. The studio involvement in painting is for those who are interested in challenging and advancing their work in an immersive and nurturing environment. Also, the course is geared for portfolio development, and a production of a written package appropriate for applications to MFA programs, and or, to further career development in the field of fine arts. Pass/Fail Option. Offered Spring only.
