MCOM 362 - Documentary Tradition 3 s.h. This course will explore the creative, technical, and practical aspects of creating a video documentary. Students will receive hands-on instruction in conducting background research, concept development, pre-production analysis, production development, and distribution. The final project for the course will be a short documentary. Students will also contextualize production though a better understanding the origins and development of the genre. Documentaries will be created and understood as means of public information, social and political criticism, education, and propaganda. A-E Only. Offered Fall and Spring. Prerequisite(s): 12 s. h. of 200-level work in MCOM.
