PHIL 280 - Bioethics 3 s.h. Bioethics is an undergraduate course designed to give students an in-depth understanding of salient ethical, legal, religious and policy issues in bioethics. Readings will be from philosophy, law, and medicine. Students will read and discuss primary literature and specific case studies on a weekly basis. Students will gain an understanding of key issues in bioethics such as: human dignity, moral status, oppression, euthanasia, genetic enhancement, biotechnology, and synthetic biology. Offered annually. (LA) Prerequisite(s): SoS.
