PHIL 269 - Consciousness and Cognition 3 s.h. This course introduces vexing issues in philosophy and cognitive psychology. As a survey of theories of the mind, consciousness, and awareness it is relevant for a broad range of fields: cognitive psychology, sensation and perception, philosophy, artificial intelligence, evolutionary biology, biology and psychology. By exploring a multitude of exciting and often contradictory new theories in several different disciplines, we confront the possible uniqueness of humans. Offered annually. LA PSYC 269 . Prerequisite(s): One PHIL and one PSYC course.
