PSYC 279 - Psychology of Drug Use and Abuse 3 s.h.
A contemporary approach to drug and alcohol use and abuse. Topics include psychoactive properties of licit and illicit substances; tolerance, habituation, dependence, and addiction; personality characteristics of drug users/abusers; prevention and treatment programs. Also explores dietary supplements and herbs as used in society today. Course requires active participation in discussions.

Prerequisite(s): “C” or better in PSYC 100 .
