PSYC 238 - Evolution and Behavior 3 s.h.


This course provides a thorough understanding of evolution and genetics as they relate to behavior. Topics covered include the following: genetic variation and heredity, competition and natural selection, sex and life history traits, social behavior, learning and plasticity, human evolution, and an introduction to Evolutionary Psychology, Human Behavioral Ecology and Gene-Culture Co-Evolution. In sum, this course will provide the fundamental principles of evolutionary biology that one needs to apply evolutionary and genetic arguments in the field of psychology.
