ARTS 243 - Figure Drawing II 3 s.h.

A continuation of Figure Drawing I, with an emphasis on creative, interpretive, and compositional uses of the human figure. Students will explore critical issues of depicting the human form in monochrome and color, utilizing graphite, conte crayon and soft pastel. Students will be expected to create a multi-figure, thematic composition and produce a body of work for a professional-quality portfolio. Historical, philosophical, theoretical, and technical perspectives of traditional and contemporary figurative work will be explored. Offered Spring only.
