An overview and interpretation of Irish political, economic, and cultural history since ancient times, with heaviest emphasis on the period from the Tudors to the present. The approach will be objective and analytical. Nationalism, for instance, will be treated, not as a value to be taken for granted, but as a phenomenon to be studied. Offered irregularly.
