This course will cover radiative transfer in the Earth’s atmosphere. The physical processes of solar radiation and terrestrial radiation will be applied to the atmosphere. Further study of these processes as applied to remote sensing systems will follow. Finally, the computational aspects of radiative processes as applied in climate change and general circulation models will be covered. The course is intended for upper-division meteorology majors only. Offered Fall only.
