AHIS 282 - The Native American in American History  3 s.h.


Examines the role of the Native American in American history from the period of exploration and penetration by European peoples to the present. Emphasizes recent and past problems faced by native peoples resulting from contact with whites. Topics include: treatment of Native Americans by colonial administrators and government officials, the treaty and reservation system, and the growth of Pan-Indian Movements. Offered irregularly.
