EDBL 624 - Personnel Development and Supervision 3 s.h.

This course will prepare educational leaders to supervise faculty/staff and facilitate effective professional development in Pre-K – 12 schools. This course covers various aspects of the supervisory process. Areas that are included are: an overview of supervision theory and research, personnel recruitment and retention, performance appraisal and evaluation, research-based practices of professional development to improve teaching and learning, and NY State laws/regulations that govern personnel development and supervision. Candidates will practice supervisory skills, including observation, communication and interpersonal skills. Offered annually.
Prerequisite(s): EDBL 614 .
Corequisite(s): EDBL 695D .
